Retired NFL Player Goes High-Tech and Builds a Successful Internet NFL Shopping Site

Temple Hills, MD – May 30 2007 – The MCSportsFan.com NFL shop is a dream come true for retired NFL Player, Cecil “Martin” Chase. Cecil Chase spent 8-years in the NFL as a defensive tackle from 1998 to 2005. He began his career with the Baltimore Ravens and continued with the New Orleans Saints, Washington Redskins, New York Giants, and Jacksonville Jaguars. Despite injuries Cecil played in 55 games over his career, including the 2000 NFC Wild Card and Divisional Playoff games for the Saints. His most extensive playing time came in 2001 when he appeared in all 16 games for the Saints.

As Cecil Chase's NFL career wound down, he looked forward to the next step in his life. His desire to share his love of sports with the many fans who make the NFL possible led him to create his MCSportsFan.com NFL shop.

Cecil Chase states, “I've always dreamt of being an entrepreneur as a child. Playing in the NFL gave me a great opportunity to be around other business people. The NFL also allowed me the chance to see how business people work and how hard business can be. I decided to start an Internet retail store because I have watched other NFL players start brick and mortar stores that failed, and I did not want to go down that same road. So I did business research and found out how fast the Internet and ecommerce is growing. I discovered that information websites and retail websites offer great business opportunities. As I have always loved the retail side of business, and because I come from the NFL, I felt a perfect business for me would be to offer high quality NFL merchandise and autographed collectibles. As I enjoy customer service and talking to people, when customers call my shop, they talk directly to me. I have found that my customers enjoy talking with a person who played in the NFL and I really enjoy talking to my customers.”
